    Policy Cover
    The following represents a summary of the covers available to you. These summaries do not describe all the terms and conditions of your policy; these are contained in you policy document. When reviewing your policy it should be read in conjunction with your Policy Schedule:

    •  Patents
    The costs of defending or pursuing legal proceedings arising from the infringement or alleged infringement of a patent. The advice of the appointed lawyers and professional advisers must be strictly complied with at all times and they will vet all matters which may give rise to a claim.

    •  Copyright and Design
    The costs of defending or pursuing legal proceedings arising from the infringement or alleged infringement of Copyright or Design. The advice of the appointed lawyers and professional advisers must be strictly complied with at all times and they will vet all matters which may give rise to a claim.

    •  Mark
    The costs of defending or pursuing legal proceedings arising from the infringement or alleged infringement of a Mark. The advice of the appointed lawyers and professional advisers must be strictly complied with at all times and they will vet all matters which may give rise to a claim.

    •  Confidential Information
    The costs of defending or pursuing breaches of confidential information declared to the Coverholder that relates to intellectual property. The advice of the appointed lawyers and professional advisers must be strictly complied with at all times and they will vet all matters which may give rise to a claim.

    •  Passing Off
    The costs of defending or pursuing legal proceedings arising from a claim or allegation of passing off in relation to declared intellectual property rights. The advice of the appointed lawyers and professional advisers must be strictly complied with at all times and they will vet all matters which may give rise to a claim.

    •  Unfair Competition
    The costs of defending or pursuing legal proceedings arising from a claim or allegation of unfair competition in relation to a declared Mark. The advice of the appointed lawyers and professional advisers must be strictly complied with at all times and they will vet all matters which may give rise to a claim.

    •  Licence protection
    The costs of defending or pursuing legal proceedings arising from a claim or allegation of passing off. The advice of the appointed lawyers and professional advisers must be strictly complied with at all times and they will vet all matters which may give rise to a claim.

    This is a ‘Claims Made' Policy.
    It only covers claims notified to the coverholder during the Period of Insurance. You must notify us within 30 days of any circumstance that may give rise to any claim.

    First Period of Insurance

    Excluded periods of cover may be waived where similar cover was held immediately before purchasing insurance. Limits of Indemnity The maximum liability of the Coverholder under the Policy during the Period of Insurance will be listed on the Schedule. Annual limits are available from £25,000.00 to £1,000,000.00.

    Excess
    The Insurer will not be liable for the first part of any claim where you have accepted an excess under this Policy. The level of the excess will be listed for each head of cover in the Schedule.

    Territorial Limits

    Cover is available for claims brought in the United Kingdom, the European Union, United States of America & Canada and the rest of the World. The Territorial limits of the policy and each section will be shown in the Schedule of the Policy.

    For certain trades there are amendments to the cover under the policy and premium levels are adjusted accordingly.
