Isn’t it nice to know that if you are involved in a dispute the law is there to ensure that your rights are upheld. But resorting to the law can be a potential minefield for anyone who is unfamiliar and can also be extremely expensive. Personal Legal Care will cover legal costs and expenses in many important areas of personal litigation such as:

  • Personal Injury – due to negligence of a third party £25,000 limit
  • Consumer Disputes – faulty goods of services £1,000 limit
  • Employment – contract of employment disputes £1,000 limit
  • Home Rights – residential dispute with a neighbour £1,000 limit
  • Taxation – defence of in-depth Inland Revenue Investigations £1,000 limit
  • Prosecution Defence – defence of your legal rights £1,000 limit

In respect of Consumer, Home Rights and Employment there is no cover for the first 90 days of the first period of insurance.

Any claim falling within the Small Claims Court limits will receive full legal advice and assistance from the telephone legal Helpline service which will include the payment of any unrecovered issue fee but the appointment of a solicitor is at our discretion. We may also attempt negotiation followed by alternative dispute resolution before a solicitor is appointed in any claim.

Legal Advice at your Service
24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the helpline consultants are on hand to take full details and will arrange for a qualified Solicitor to call you to discuss your problem:

  • Have you been unfairly dismissed?
  • Is your neighbour allowed to build on your property?
  • What are your legal rights in a matrimonial dispute?
  • You have purchased faulty goods or services what is your remedy?

This service also acts as the reporting help-line for all claims and must be called prior to us nominating or appointing a legal representative. You should call 0871 423 5244 and quote your policy number.

Home Emergency Service
Personal Legal Care also gives you peace of mind with a 24 hour, year round home emergency service to repair and help with problems such as:-

  • Domestic plumbing or drainage – where flooding is likely
  • Domestic gas or electricity supply – in the event of complete failure
  • Roofing – where internal damage is likely
  • External doors, windows or locks – rendering the home insecure
  • Fixed heating supply – where there is an oil or water escape.

When you telephone for emergency help, Composite Legal Expenses will provide prompt attention from a competent repairer in your area. You will of course be responsible for the costs involved but will find these fair and reasonable.

What must I Do?

  • Call the legal helpline before taking any action yourself
  • Notify the helpline of any problems that may give rise to a claim within 30 days of the incident
